Heidi's Socks, Books Listening to

Just wanted to say on this Sunday it has been real slow. Yesterday we celebrated Victoria's 4th Birthday. No pictures were taken. I stayed in my house dress and pink slippers. She had a good day at least. I saw a new neurologist on Friday. He was nice and I will keep this one. I have gotten into audio books as it is hard to even hold my ebook anymore. Here is a list of all the audio books I am listening to from http\\www.podiobooks.com

And here is a scan of the sock I am working on.

Presents !! Secret Pal Puffy Recieved

I got my secret pal exchange for the no sheep for ewe exchange. My secret pal sent two different skeins . The first is FFF one yarn a thousand sensations Panache. I felt this yarn sooooooo soft and prettty before I read the label this is 100% nylon.38 yards. Unbelievable. this will be a hat for my soon to be 4 year old granddaughter. I'll try to take pics tonight. Very varigated nice colors can't wait to knit it up. The second is from Artful Yarns Balett 45% nylon, 35% acrylic 20% cotton. 71 yards. Nice sky blue with gold so pretty. I think these will be a pair of fingerless gloves for ME. Yes this year I am knitting some things for ME. My secret pal said she couldn't decided on the more subtle yarn or the more fun yarn. I LOVE BOTH!~!! Thank you sooo much. I will be sending to my downstream secret pal on June 30. I explained on email I could not get out until then and she said she was so busy it was not a problem. This is a great exchange.

On another note, I am working on textured tank from June Knit 'N Style. Finished the back, now working on the front. Nice patterns easy repeats even for me lol. I'll post a pic when I am finished.

Working on the next poem in the day of a life with fibromyalgia, should be up later this week.

Hubby will be home all week next week. So good for him to relax. We are watching an old abbot and costello film. Great fun. Seee you all later.

Wednesday June 20th

It has been quite a while since I have posted been pretty sick with either a tick or spider bite But feeling a bit better now. So was prodded by a new friend to write some poetry. We both have Fibromyalgia so here goes.

Aware that I am awakening

I open one eye.

And see

my dog looking at me.

I do the usual check to see

Do I hurt?

Of course,

Where is that pain?

Ahh the left hip again.

The others are all minor

And I say to Jester

“Not yet, let’s go back to

Sleep.”

As we dose off

I remind myself

Do not turn on the LEFT

And I can be pain free

For just

a little while

Longer

Oh and my sister had the baby Jonathan Peter he is just soooo cute.

Been Busy

I have been busy with crocheting a layette for my sister Cherie who lives in Georgia. When I find the blanket that I have finished in this mess that I live in I'll post the picture of that.

I just can't seem to concentrate this month has been insane!
I thought that I had stopped all my exchanges from AtMyHouse but I guess in one of my foggy times I stopped all others and signed up for a 12" square! What was I thinking? I just don't know I have socks to knit, two layettes and a lap blanket for my hubby. I don't have time for exchanges. And my partner wants white and pink I don't ever use these colors except for babies. So I am making a dreamcatcher 12" in rose and oatmeal. That is all I have and of course no money!!!

My big spend this last month was 2 big balls of white baffalo which is a scared animal for my family. I have to figure out what I am doing with this.

I invited an old friend last night. It has been 3 years since I have been in my shell with depression from epstien barre and fibroymalagia. I can't spell anymore anyway.

Well have been wish shopping for those who are interested my birthday is coming up on the 25th of April.

I am listening to lyme and violet podcasts while knitting this week they make me laugh so much. Well during one of their shows 29 i think they gave this link
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=5641591

of pug dogs stitch holders - I want them in black of course cause my pug is black.

I bought some knitpicks circulars for socks and the book Socks Soar on Two Circular Needles by Cat Bordhi. If anyone has this book how in hades do you do the book marks on the back cover????? They are just soooooooooo cute.

Well enough for now. Have pics to take and a sock to finish and have to take Bri Bri to bowling today at 1 pm. Thank God I don't have to take a painpill today!!. I promise I'll post some links and pics over the weekend.

what kind of knitter am I quiz result

What Kind of Knitter Are You?

You appear to be a Knitting Purist. You are an accomplished knitter producing beautiful pieces with a classic feel. You sometimes lament losing half of your local yarn shop to garish novelty yarns. Perhaps you consider fun fur scarves the bane of knitting society and prefer to steer new knitters towards the wool and cotton blends. Some might call you a bit of an elitist but you know that you've been doing this craft long enough to respect the history behind it and honor it with beautiful piece that can last a lifetime. http://marniemaclean.com

Cold Icy Valentines Day

This is the February Dishcloth from yahoo groups Dishcloths. I used peaches and cream in hot pink and I really love this design.

I cannot go out into the cold and ice, we are iced in today. So I have emailed all my exchange leaders and let them know I will not be able to get out to the UPS store and the post office until Friday.

I love doing the exchanges at the yahoo group AtMyHouse, the people are all sooo nice and getting the packages to me brings me as much pleasure as hearing that the people I send to love what I do.

Today is a bad hurting day. Can't do much knitting, but am crocheting some heart shaped coasters for my house as they are so easy and so very pretty.
These are designed by Julie A. Bolduc and are called Valentine Coasters.
We are all home today (everything is closed in Baltimore and DC) so we are watching the Westminister Dog Show - we recorded it with dvr using Comcast Digital TV.

I have not eaten yet, got up around 10. Oh not true, DH gave me a nestle's crunch ice cream bar which I scarfed right down. Now I have to go make a sandwich.

Jester - My pug got neutered on Saturday - and I have to give him antibotics twice a day. So while making my sandwich I'll have to look for a goodie to hide it in for him. Forcing it done his throat has gotten me several deep scratches on my hands - so I have learned just give him the treat lol.

I got a couple of books for Annies attic, and of course I cannot find it right now. It is the afgan crochet book with an afgan for every season. On Saturday MDH let me buy the yarn and I am going to work on the first motif to night. It has a rose in the center , stems and leaves and a rosebud on one of the stems in the middle of each square, the background square color is off white. I choose oatmeal.

More on that later.
I guess that is all I have to say today.
Will try to post daily

Things on the needles

Currently I am working on the First part of Feburary Dishcloth and the Afgan square on a size eight circular ( Joann's didn't have any 7's :-( ). I am going to use Sugar and Cream in HOT PINK, for the dishcloth and more of the red for the afgan.
I also belong to AtMyHouse group. I joined the kercheif exchange this month. I had some very very soft unlabled yarn in gray that I got from an email friend. So I whipped this up in 1 hour. I crochet much faster then I knit. I sure hope she likes it. I will be making one up for myself because it is just sooooooo soft.

Holly Socks Done

I was making these for my son to give to his bride to be for valentines day. I wound up grafting the toes just as she pulled up. Thank God they are done, I just do not work well under pressure anymore. The left sock I did first, and my fibromyalgia fog kicked in and I didn't carry the pattern all the way down the leg. But I am sure she will love them anyway.

I used wool from Italy and I can't find the paper so I don't remember what brand. I used size 2 dp needles and it took me the better part of two weeks to finish them.

They have a partridge heel , and that was very interesting. I really like it.

1st dishcloth square for afgan done

I have decided to use the designs from the dishcloth newsgroup that I belong to to make a lapgan for my scooter, so here is the first completed square. I don't know what happend to the to color, it is done in red heart supersaver red, bright red.

I am very happy with the way it turned out. I will try to do better with the scanner next time
